This post has been selected amongst  Blogadda's WOW posts of the week.

Shopping in 2030

The sun shone bright as always
The flowers bloomed imbue as always
The market teemed with folks as always
The girls went for shopping as always
The boys didn't hold the shopping bags as always.

The calendar marked today as 15th of July 2030
The fresh arrivals are to be announced today
Shizuka is all set to choose from the new range
She logs into ebay.in to look for some peppy trends
The site teems with a huge range of collection
She gets confused and calls up Nobita

"What should I buy? a skirt or a tunic?
Which colour will suit me best?
Will the frills do?
Or should I go for florals?
Heels or wedges?
Pointed or flats?
Ahh!! I'm so confused.
Please Help me Nobita."

Nobita went delirious at the streak of questions
Comes a frenzy cry out of his mouth
Doraee--mo--on

The android robot is the only saviour
He puts his hand in his pocket and grabs the gadget "Shopollu"
He turns to nobita and tells him
Shopollu is an AI (artificial intelligence) goggle.
It reads the brain waves of Shopper and presents before him the 3-D replica of the item.
The shopper can try the chosen item at the wink of his eye.
He can do so by just logging into a shopping website and picking up his choice.

Nobita becomes very happy
He goes to Shizuka and asks her to log into ebay.in
He asks her to wear Shopollu and go on a virtual test-shopping.
Shizuka enjoys shopping sitting at her home
She tries this and that
Black and blue
Heels and flats
Shirts and skirts
She goes crazy trying all
Nobita loves to see his happy doll.

After a smart shopping from ebay.in with Shopollu on her eyes
She goes dotty at seeing the bill.
Ebay offers a special offer to their shopaholic customers.
They need to pay just half of the bill
And pay the rest after complete product satisfaction
Else enjoy the shopping at half the price.

The shopping fiesta comes to an end
With all the products delivered to their home in an hour
Shizuka thanks Nobita
Nobita Thanks Doraemon
Doraemon winks at Shopollu
And Shopollu exclaims "Whoa! Girls make me so tired".
This is how shopping goes in 2030
With Shopollu and Ebay offering grand.

Beat the Berlin

“Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate. Mr. Gorbachev,  tear down this wall”.
I'm here at  Brandenburger Tor Not Ronald Reagan
But a traveller who came so far.

I want to climb Fernsehturm -the Telespargel
Relishing the Currywurst at Telecafe with left hand
Swishing away my wisps with the right
Spanning the Berlin from 368 metres of height
Resplendent Berlin is in my sight.

The Berlin wall carrying the graceful Graffiti
Stands still as the testimony to the division
Want to walk through the Checkpoint Charlie
Saying the story of the Unified Germany.

I yearn to swim in the lakes of Berlin
Sipping the cocktail at one such beach
Go for boating in the clear water so deep
Resting in the lap of Mother Nature green.

Digging into Kurfürstendamm avenue
Shopping full into the bags till I drop
KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens) will fill
my remaining bags with the gourmet licks.

Posing for four shots in Berlin’s Photoautomaten
Will serve as brilliant souvenir in black and white
Seizing my amazing time in the city
I'll pose for my posterity.

Partying 24-hours in the city of 48-hours
Moving to the music in Farbfenseher.

I'll not miss the  Salon Zur housing the party vibes
An adventure playground, with a labyrinth underground.

I wish to watch a movie at Friedrichshain Open Air Cinema
Starting from sunset into the dark
Moving next to hear the Berlin Philharmonic

At the iconic yellow building.

I long to attend the Festival of Lights
In october when Berlin will transform
Into city of lights where squares will be dazzling
With the colourful light projections each night.

Rattled Ratty Party

Party! Party! Party! I'm all ready for the ratty party of my dear Rat. I cried out of exhilaration as soon as I decked up in my Mini mouse costume. My dear friend  has organized a theme party on the occasion of her blog's birthday. Yeah! we bloggers are crazy about our only valuable possession -our blog. We treat our blog as our soul - the inseparable identity and often love to be called by our Blog name only. So Meera is more popularly known as Rat. She had invited all her blogger friends to her little burrow.

I was already late for the nibbling party and couldn't stop myself from thinking of the cheese cakes. I drove fast to grab the hot cup cakes before the cheese melts in someone else's mouth. But the traffic got me struck like the cat in the way of the running rat. I was honking the horn loud, yelling at the person ahead of me, cursing the cat-traffic and sobbing over my lost cheese cakes. Anyhow I managed to reach Rat's burrow by 10p.m.

I was awe-struck to find the venue being shaped exactly like a burrow. The dark long and narrow entrance with eerie silence baffled me whether I'm here for a party or a condolence. Anyhow my heart was beating in my ears in the ghostly entry. I walked for about five more minutes in pin-drop silence in the hope perhaps its Rat's brain of welcoming us. Soon I could see some light coming out of a big hole. As I approached the hole, it was a big glass door opening the way to the rattling party. A person wearing the costume of Jerry was standing there. He welcomed me to the party.

As the gate opened, I was thrown into a booming stentorian ambience roaring out loud music, completely contrary to the party entrance. To my amazement every one was on their fours crawling and running like rats here and there. I saw Meera-the Rat, appearing like a rat only (in her costume) . She signalled me to take the position and enjoy the party. I ran, actually hoppled to her and greeted her. I congratulated her for hosting such an exotic party. She said, "Nibble Promptly. More exotic moments await you." I didn't get her meaning and jumped around to meet my other friends. While I was passing through the centre of the burrow, a huge chocolate cake in the shape of a rat was being placed with a sparkling candle lighting in front of it. It looked more yummy and delicious than beautiful. I wanted to dab my face into it but only I know how hard I resisted. The air was smelling of cheese cakes. I sniffed in the air like other rats and ran in the direction of the cheesy aroma. There were plenty of cheese balls, cheese cakes and cheese muffins. I grabbed my favourite hot cheese balls. As I was about to dip a piece in the cheese-chocolate-dip, there was a sudden chaos.

Everyone was running here and there and still all were on their fours. It was a cheese stampede or what. Before I could make anymore wild guesses, Meera- the Rat announced that the sparkling candle is lost - the one which was lighting in front of the cake. I murmured, "Who lights the candle so many hours before, now if it is lost then light a new one yaar. No worries." But I was flabbergasted with her next statement, " The candle should have kept sparkling the entire night otherwise this huge cake will turn into a real monster size rat eating up all of us." I laughed at her proclamation and lifted up a cheese ball from my plate. But before my tongue could relish the dish, she gave me a stern look and said, "It's true. I swear on my blog.Everyone get into action and find the candle. And don't get up otherwise it will turn into real in the trice of your eyes".

My heart sank down for not having savoured the cheese balls. I tried getting up but then we all saw the giant mouse-cake started shaking a little and out of fear I cried, " Exotic!!!". I thought she can't swear false on her blog. There is something mystique. Each of us started searching for the sparkling candle. I looked for it in every corner, in the darkest of the nooks. I was running on my all fours. Everyone was hopping around. It was already an hour and we could all see the cake-mouse coming to life bit by bit from the bottom. I was scared so much that I didn't even bother to get back to my cheese balls.

While I was using my detective eyes to scan every patch, suddenly I saw a tail waving at the backside of the cake-mouse. Oh my Gosh! It was a real rat nibbling under the cake-mouse giving us the sensation as if it will come alive by nibbling it from here and there and shaking it. I held the real rat by its tail and courageously stood up. Everyone looked up at me while being on their fours. "This is the most exotic party." I turned my face towards Meera- the Rat and she bowed down to me. She stood up from her rat position and broke the suspense. "This is my pet rat - Chaiz. I was struck of this game while I was preparing for the party. So I made you play on your fours and enjoy the life of the rat for time being. The candle was hidden by me only. By the way, there awaits one more exotic moment for all of you".

My ears stood up,"Now what more??".
"The candle will be lit by the person who found the truth. So, I request you Surbhi to light the candle, cut the cake and savour the very first piece".
I was so overwhelmed at her kind gesture. I was almost tears and my throat got lumps obstructing my voice. "Thank-you so much Meera. It was this year that I didn't cut any cake on my birthday. I was all alone sitting back in my room missing my friends. But you have made my day. I will celebrate my belated birthday with all you guyz and Chaiz. Thank-you so much. It's really exotic when life dips you into chocolate-cheese-dip."

Everyone laughed and I cut the cake. I had the most wonderful day of my life celebrating the exoticness in a rattled party as one of the Rats.

Saturday

Under the Canopy of Grannies

"Hello! Hello!
Good Morning everyone! Today we have gathered here to celebrate Grandparent's Day. Grandparents are the strongest pillars of the family. They nurture us with utmost care and affection. Lets take this opportunity to make them feel special. They are our valuable assets. Hello.. Hello.. Mike Testing..1..2..3.."
Such rumble sounds were banging on my eardrums early in the morning at 7 o' clock. As I reconciled to my consciousness, I found it was some teacher who was rehearsing her lines for the Grandparent's Day celebration.

Ravindra Bharti Global School , a primary school is situated just behind my hostel. I bounced out of my bed and peeped through the window. What all is going on?? Is there  something called Grandparent's Day??

Yeah! 7th September has been declared as Grandparent's Day by UNESCO. I had never heard of it before. An hour later, many grandparents started coming in holding the hand of their grandchildren. Soon the celebration started with a welcome note from the Principal. I was watching all this from my window. I clicked some pics also from my window at the fifth floor.

The grandparents were made to play some games, some quizzing games and some funny games. To everyone's amazement, the intelligent Grandmas proved their excellence here too. After that grandchildren presented some dance and sang a Thank-you song in their honour. Later the Grandparents were asked to share their views, their experiences, their lovely thoughts about their grandchildren. Many of them shared their views. One of the Grandpas had a hearty laugh while describing how his Grandson studying in Class-II daily insists for bedtime stories and he has to daily struggle to do this homework.

It was my immense pleasure to listen to so many Grannies. Some also thanked their better halves for walking so long without any complaint filling the journey with love and happiness. At the end, the rocking song "Badtameez Dil" was played. Everyone was on the dance floor- Granpas, Granmas, Grandchildren and teachers. It was fun watching the young Granparents moving their shaggy bodies to the music. I enjoyed this entire celebration sitting at the window. It was after so many days I sensed happiness in the air.

On this day, I take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to Granny- Mrs. Usha Menon ,a 77-year young lady who is so active in her real life as well as blogging world (http://eccentricgrandmum.blogspot.in/). She has been inspiring everyone who walks past her. I'm one of the lucky person to get to know her. It was just a day before when I saw an old lady named Usha Menon (as her profile picture said) has commented on one of the blogs I regularly visited. I was stupefied  after reading her 'About Me' section and a few of her blogs. And I was left dumbstruck when the very next day she visited my blog and felicitated me with the prestigious Liebster Award. It was a complete exotic moment to have her imprints on my space. She is the real "VIVACIOUS PUERILE" whom I know. I present a few lines in your honour, Grandma.

The silver lining on the head
The crinkles lying on the hand
The waist stooping down the cane
The eyes still gleaming like of a child
The heart as young as mine
She is my Grandmaa smiling from miles.

Your praiseworthy words
Your vivacious spirit
Your sweet voice
Your all-time support
Makes me feel blessed everyday.
Thank-you for making this big world a tiny microcosm.
