The appreciation of Deva's work by Giant Titans stir the readers to read his thriller fiction and transport themselves to a heart throbbing fable. The cover design shows a syringe and a bullet pointing towards each other. Well, these depict the civilian armament the K-team uses for its mission RIP.

Synopsis

R.I.P. The Resurgent Indian Patriots.
Self appointed guardians of a nation seething with anger at the endless scams and scandals rocking its very foundation. Vigilantes who vow to stop corrupt politicians and colluding civil servants. Even if it means killing them.

Colonel Krishna Athawale and his Special Forces officers rally to protect the country from the enemy within. They call themselves the K-Team. And no one is safe from their deadly intent.

Hellbent on stopping them is Raghav Bhagat, rogue para commando, gun for hire and Krishna's bete noir.

Caught in the cross-fire is Vinod Bedi, Special Director, CBI. Reena Bhagat, a glamorous news anchor, embittered by her husband's betrayal. And two young boys, Sachin and Azaan, torn apart by the loss of a parent.

Review

The book talks about the corruption, scams, corrupt judges, politicians and the arms dealer, social activist Hazarika, Sheila Kaul, the National Democratic Congress, Party President residing at 10 Janpath, Lalit Yadav , chief minister of Bihar and his brother-in-law Sheru Yadav and many more which can be easily co-related to the contemporary scenario.

As the author quotes-
This book was born out of an extreme sense of anger and shame. Anger at the appalling, naked greed so shamelessly displayed by the Indian political class. And the shame that they happen to be fellow-Indians.
This sets the mood of the reader to soak himself into the fiction.

The story starts with the commencement of Mission RIP by the K-team under Colonel Krishna Athawale. They plot the assassination of Sheru Yadav, right hand of the chief minister of Bihar. The civilian technology they adhere to in order to avoid the suspect is pretty interesting.
They carry out similar blows at Chennai and Pune simultaneously. Giving a major setback to the government, the RIP blows its cornet against the enemy within the gates. Asking the government to comply to its demands, the K-Team keeps making the headlines. Now begins the rough-and-tumble fight between the government and K-Team. Read through to find out Who wins? Does the K-Team succeeds in redefining the country outline? Or the government connives to bury the RIP?

The story also blows the love breeze between Colonel Athawale and news anchor Reena Bhagat. Both are married and have a son each but are left alone by the tides of time. Will they be able to confess their love and drive the children together, all four of them in the same car? The story ends with this love-note rather than a patriotic-note.

Teethered on the edge of reality, RIP will keep you turning pages late into the night.

In a Nutshell

The book will hook you right from the beginning and get you going through each and every plot the K-Team lives to. Since the current scenario is very much same as that described in the book, it will keep you engrossed and make you think if such a K-Team should really exist??? This book is indeed a must read thriller fiction. So go for it Buys !!!

My rating - 4/5
